New sports and leisure pool, scheduled for completion in 2010
When the north Bavarian town of Pegnitz carried out a VOF procedure to award a contract for architectural and engineering services for planning and supervision of the new sports and leisure pool, we achieved jointly with Dr. Krieger Architekten the highest number of points among a large number of competitors and thus gained the trust of the client to put the plans into practice.
In the course of modernising and extending the site, a new sports pool,
a teaching pool and a paddling pool were joined to the existing buildings. In the open air area we implemented the technical equipment
for an existing jumping pool as well as for new attractions for fun pool
which is to be built from an existing pool.
One of the main technical challenges of the project is the overall heating
concept of combining a pellet heating system, a combined heat and power module as well as integrating the cooling systems of the open ice
ring. The technical equipment were built in a resource-friendly way that
uses proprietary water from a spring and discharges the backwash water into a reservoir.
