Renovation and Extension, scheduled for completion in 2009
After dismissing the original plan to modernise the old Nordbad and to keep the same set up, the council has now decided to scale down the design and build a combined outdoor/ indoor pool with a roof that can be opened.
This will be executed by general contractor IBACO, Velbert. DTF has been awarded the planning of the technical building installations and will, in close co-operation with the operators, proceed to plan, tender and implement sanitary, heating, ventilation and pool water systems as well as electronics and ICA technology. While carrying out the necessary works, it has to be ensured that other consumers on this property are provided with drinking water, heating and electricity.
The new technical installations are executed in such a way that not only existing components can be reused but also intelligent supplements and innovations can help operating the pool in a more economical and hence resource-friendly way. Proprietary water usage through a well on the premises, a backwash water recycling facility according to German DIN standard so the water can be used in the building or discharged into a reservoir are just some examples for what is possible.
