Together with Düsseldorf architects Ringel. Hellmeister, we are also completing a school remodelling project for the City of Düsseldorf’s Estates Management Office. Built as an elementary school in the historical district of Heerdt in 1907 and upgraded on many occasions, the building is being converted into a modern, voluntary all-day school.

Besides converting and upgrading existing sections of the building, we are also constructing a new building, which will serve as a leisure facility and meeting point for young people in the district.  As a result of an innovative conceptual design, this building will be constructed in accordance with passive house standards and in compliance with legal requirements. It will thus help to conserve resources, something which is also achieved through its intensive use.
 
Besides interdisciplinary planning for all building services engineering, we have also been given the exciting task of developing an innovative local heating concept for the whole complex and providing the owner with cost analyses for different types of central heat supply systems. These analyses will act as a basis for deciding on which system we will build and for calculating the costs for removing the existing system and installing the new one.
